Torta Caprese, Capri’s signature dessert.

It is said to have originated from a mistake, baked without flour, over a century ago on Azure Island. The result was surprisingly delicious, a soft-hearted cake with a slight outer crust, which immediately became famous on Capri and throughout Campania, becoming one of the island’s most iconic symbols. At Grotta Azzurra Gourmet, Torta Caprese is available in three variations: classic, with dark chocolate and almonds; lemon, with white chocolate and lemons from Capri; and pistachio, with white chocolate and pistachios.
